U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) today announced that the Tulane Education Fund will be receiving a grant of $80,744 under the Department of Education's (DOE) Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program.

"Improving education for all Louisianians remains a top priority for me, which is why I'm glad to see Tulane University receive this important grant that will educate our Fulbright scholars and future teachers as they work to refine their language skills and cultural studies," said Vitter.

Established in 1961, the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program was designed to strengthen foreign language studies throughout the nation's educational system, and the grant goes toward prospective post-secondary teachers to study abroad for their dissertation research.
